Indocement Conducts Various Activities for the Community in the Month of Ramadan 2022

BOGOR-TODAY.COM, BOGOR – PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. (Indocement) during the month of Ramadan 2022 carried out various activities for partner village communities simultaneously throughout its factory complex, these activities are as follows:

• The Citeureup Factory Complex held a Ramadan assistance program in the form of giving zakat rice weighing 27 tons for 12 partner villages and 3 sub-districts in Bogor Regency.
• The Cirebon Factory Complex organized a Ramadan assistance program in the form of distributing 10,110 packages of rice to partner village communities and assistance with worship facilities and takjil for forty prayer rooms and mosques located in partner village areas.
• The Tarjun Factory Complex made a friendly visit and handed over Ramadan gifts and financial assistance to community representatives from eight partner villages.

Antonius Marcos, Director & Corporate Secretary stated that this annual routine assistance program can help the community to carry out fasting activities in the month of Ramadan, in addition, hopes that these programs can increase the sense of community between partner villages and Indocement. The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the implementation of Indocement’s CSR program for partner village communities.

CSR flagship programs such as the Environmentally Friendly Village Program, Community-Based Waste Management Program, Adiwiyata School Program (a movement to care for and have an environmental culture in schools), MSME Development Program, and Tourism Place Development Program continue to run. Throughout 2021, Indocement has carried out 916 community empowerment activities with a total fund for community development of Rp12.6 bilion.

Indocement’s Commitment to Environmental Conservation

Indocement through the Indocement Energy Management Team supported by the Heidelbergcement Technology Center (HTC) has developed an energy conservation program and a roadmap for energy efficiency and CO2 reduction. Indocement has a target in 2025 for CO2 emissions from Scope 1 of 575kg CO2/ton cement (2021: 606 CO2/ton cement).

This target can be achieved by various green initiatives such as increasing the use of alternative fuels to 25% by 2025, using more alternative raw materials to replace clinker, encouraging the use of green cement, namely hydraulic cement, slag cement, and portland composite cement.

(PCC) to gradually replace ordinary portland cement (OPC) and develop renewable energy for electricity sources.

Indocement also continues to pursue its dust emission target of 10 mg/Nm3 by 2025, this target is far from the government’s dust emission regulation which is only at 60 mg/Nm3, in 2021 Indocement’s average dust emission will reach 21.9 mg/Nm3.

As a sustainability-oriented public company, Indocement pays great attention to the aspects of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG/LST) which is reflected in the establishment of the ESG Committee in 2021. This committee will monitor the implementation of sustainability performance and ensure the balance of ESG aspects.

On the environmental aspect, the Company continues to reduce its environmental footprint in various ways and breakthroughs, Indocement continues to strive to reduce the amount of carbon emissions, increase the use of alternative materials, and manage waste. ensure environmental sustainability, improve employee welfare, and grow harmoniously with the community around the Company.
