BOGOR-TODAY.COM, JAKARTA – The government issues an appeal regarding activities when holding a halal bihalal event on Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah not to eat and drink
Quoting cnnindonesia.com, Monday (4/18/2022) Chairman of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KCP-PEN) Airlangga Hartarto said that this step was taken to minimize the potential for transmission of Covid-19, which is still transmitting.
“Even if there are eating and drinking activities, it must be in accordance with the distance and place,” said Airlangga in his written statement.
In addition, Airlangga also asked people not to go on vacation abroad during the upcoming Eid long holiday. This is because the Covid-19 condition in a number of countries is still increasing, in contrast to Indonesia, which is currently experiencing a downward trend in Covid-19 cases in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo has given the green light to the public to go home or return to their Idul Fitri village this year, after two years ago the government imposed a ban on going home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jokowi has also set a national holiday for Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri on 2 and 3 May 2022 and Eid al-Fitr joint leave on 29 April, 4, 5, 6 May 2022
However, travelers must apply a number of conditions. Among other things, residents who have received a booster do not need to attach a negative Covid-19 result when accessing public transportation during the Eid homecoming which will occur in the near future.
Meanwhile, residents who have just received two doses of the vaccine are required to undergo a rapid antigen test, and residents who have just received a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine must attach a negative Covid-19 result from the PCR test. (*)
